Writing Together (Real-Time)

Team and project pages are multiplayer: type simultaneously with live cursors, presence avatars and auto-save – on EU servers.

Knowledge is rarely created alone. That is why team and project pages are multiplayer: several people can open and edit the same page at the same time – like in a shared document.

Typing simultaneously, without conflicts

If two (or more) team members open the same team or project page, everyone sees the others' changes live, character by character. There is no locking, no “last save wins” and no version conflicts – everyone's changes are merged automatically, even if you are working in the same paragraph.

Who is here right now?

• Presence avatars: above the page title, round avatars of everyone who currently has the page open appear. Hovering shows the full name.

• Live cursors: every person has their own colour. You see the others' carets as a coloured line in the text – with a small name label attached. So you always know who is writing where.

• Status pill: next to the avatars, Live (green) indicates an active real-time connection. If the connection drops, the indicator switches to Offline.

Saving? Happens automatically

You never have to click “save”:

• While you type, “Saving …” briefly appears next to the title, followed by “Saved”.

• Even while Offline is shown you can keep writing – your changes are then secured via the normal auto-save until the real-time connection returns.

Which levels are multiplayer?

Company and personal pages naturally rarely have several simultaneous authors – they use classic auto-save with the same “Saving …”/“Saved” indicator.
